Midfield powerhouse Papa Bouba Diop is aiming to play a big part in what he hopes will be a 'super' season for Portsmouth.Pompey will be playing in Europe this term after winning the FA Cup and Diop is eager to be heavily involved in Harry Redknapp's plans.
The midfielder made 32 appearances after joining from Fulham almost 12 months ago, but was only a substitute in the cup final success over West Brom.
However, the Senegal international is feeling in good nick ahead of the new campaign and aims to prove his worth to Redknapp.
"I feel I'm in good form at the minute and hopefully I'll be a big part of Harry Redknapp's plans this season, but only time will tell," Diop told The News.
Diop is also confident that Pompey can enjoy another successful season, particularly following Redknapp's moves in the transfer market.
He added: "After being the FA Cup winners and having a great season last year, we are expecting a super season this time.
"The team is stronger and we've had new players coming in.
"One of those new faces is Peter Crouch. Crouch is a great player and I believe he is going to bring more energy to the team.
"With him up front I think we will score many goals this season.
"I believe our team is now strong in all areas, and we have a great team spirit."
