Mullen: More to follow Ibehre

Wed 02 Jul, 01:45 PM

Walsall boss Jimmy Mullen hopes to add "another three or four" new faces in the next couple of days after signing striker Jabo Ibehre. The 25-year-old has penned a one-year deal at the Banks's Stadium after impressing for Leyton Orient in his 250 appearances for the club.

Ibehre, who scored seven goals for the League One outfit last season, rose through the ranks at Orient and comes with a reputation as being a powerful, quick forward.

"It's nice to get a centre-forward in," Mullen told the club's official website. "I didn't think he would become available but when he did we quickly went in for him. I believe that we can get even more out of him.

"He's only 25 but has bags of experience. He's tall, powerful, quick and, more importantly, has an eye for goal.

"Our patience has been rewarded with this signing. Players don't want to be rushed into making decisions and hopefully we'll be able to add another three or four new faces in the days ahead."
