Trio return for pre-season training

Wed 02 Jul, 12:45 PM

Gary Hart, Kerry Mayo and Paul Reid have all returned to pre-season training with Brighton - despite being released at the end of last season. The experienced trio were told by previous manager Dean Wilkins that their contracts would not be renewed, but new boss Micky Adams has yet to rule out offering them fresh terms ahead of the League One campaign.

"All three of them asked if they could come and train with us during pre-season. I think that in itself shows something about them," Adams told the club's official website.

"Whether they are at this club or anywhere else, they realise that they need a base fitness and I'm more than happy to accommodate them."

Utility-man Hart, who joined Albion from Stansted 10 years ago for £1,000 and a set of tracksuits, has a testimonial against Charlton later this month.

One-club left-back Mayo had his benefit year in 2006/7 while Aussie midfielder Reid has made more than 100 appearances since arriving from Bradford in 2004.
