Swindon boss Maurice Malpas is ready to admit defeat in his bid to sign former Manchester United midfielder and Hearts target Ritchie Jones.Jones, 21, was released by the European Champions at the end of last season and the Robins boss had been hoping to add him to his squad ahead of the new season.

But with reports linking him with a move to Hearts, Malpas admits he is running out of patience with the player.

"I have to start deciding who is going on the pre-season tour and I need players desperate to come," he told the Swindon Advertiser.

"He's been difficult to get in touch with, his agent said they'd get in touch on Tuesday but I've not heard anything."
