Macclesfield's Kristian Dennis and Chris Hirst have pledged their future to the club after being handed their first professional contracts.Both were key players in last year's successful youth team and coach John Askey believes they deserve their new deals.

He told the club's official website: "Kristian bagged a lot of goals for the team last year and is one of those players who knows where the goal is.

"Chris weighed in with some important strikes and has a great engine inside him.

"Both of them have a chance now to make a mark at the higher level. It's going to be a challenge for them but that is what they have been working towards and if they approach it in the same way that they have acquitted themselves over the last two years then they will do well."
