Southampton legend Matthew Le Tissier has agreed to play one last time at St Mary's for Claus Lundekvam's testimonial later this month.Le Tissier had been reluctant to figure against Celtic on July 18 as he did not want to steal the spotlight from his former team-mate and fellow Saints stalwart Lundekvam, who was forced to retire through injury last season.
But Lundekvam made a personal plea to the cultured midfielder, who has now agreed to pull on his boots for a final appearance in front of the adoring Saints faithful.
"I did not want to take any of the spotlight away from Claus but it will be lovely for me to take part," said Le Tissier.
"I'm very grateful he has asked me to play and given me the chance to play at St Mary's and in front of the Saints fans one last time.
"I'm not getting any younger and there are no more testimonials coming up in the future so I believe this will be my last-ever game for Saints. I just want people to get their tickets and come along to support Claus on what should be a really special night."
