Leyton Orient skipper Stephen Purches believes his side can learn from last season's mistakes as they seek to gain promotion from League One.The O's made a flying start to the 2007-08 season before tailing off to a disappointing 14th-placed finish, but Purches is confident they can fare better this term.
He told the Epping Forest Guardian: "I'm really excited about the season because the gaffer has made some great additions to the squad.
"There is a great blend of young and experienced players and I think that will stand us in good stead.
"I really do think we can push on this season and we certainly learnt a lot of lessons from last season.
"I know some people looked at our start in a negative way because we weren't able to carry it on, but if we can learn from that when things aren't going well then maybe we can look to sneak a play-off place."
