The Calgary Flames have signed veteran winger Todd Bertuzzi to a one-year contract, the NHL club announced.
The 33-year-old Bertuzzi, who has played for five teams in 12 NHL campaigns, registered 40 points on 14 goals and 26 assists last season for the Anaheim Ducks.
"Todd is a proven scorer with the ability to play both wings," Flames general manager Darryl Sutter said about the Canadian on the team's website.
"He expressed to us that he wanted to play in Canada and that desire along with signing him to a one-year deal was important to our philosophy. He wanted to play on a good team and it fit our money."
The 6'3", 230-pound Bertuzzi has produced 50-plus points in six of his last eight seasons.
In the 2002-03 campaign he posted 97 points (46 goals, 51 assists) for Vancouver, where he played seven full seasons.
Twice an NHL All-Star (2003, 2004), Bertuzzi has twice represented Canada in the world championships (1998, 2000) and also was a member of Canada's 2006 Olympic team.
