Bond has strong squad for opener

Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond has an almost full-strength squad at his disposal for the season-opener at home to Gillingham on Saturday.Midfielder Danny Hollands will be out until September having undergone knee surgery last week, but several other players have been passed fit.

Joe Partington (hip), Ryan Garry (knee) and Warren Cummings (virus) are all available having come through training unscathed this week.

Striker Jo Kuffour is in the frame having recovered from hernia surgery while the Cherries have completed the signing of Joel Ward from Portsmouth on a season-long loan.

Defender Scott Guyett and midfielder Sammy Igoe are in line to make their debuts following moves from Yeovil and Bristol Rovers respectively.

Cherries boss Bond said: "Everyone apart from Danny Hollands is in fine fettle so Saturday can't come quick enough for us."M
