Ferguson: Posh are 'a point closer'

Sun 16 Mar, 02:30 PM

Manager Darren Ferguson admits Peterborough did not force Russell Hoult into action often enough in the goaless draw with Notts County.Welsh international defender Craig Morgan, top scorer Aaron Mclean and Josh Low were all guilty of failing to hit the target.

But Ferguson told his players they should not be disappointed about their winning run coming to an end.

He said: "We played some excellent football and cut County open at times in the first half, but we didn't trouble their keeper as much as we should have.

"Great runs are always going to come to an end, but the result still puts us a point closer to where we want to be.

"It was a bit disappointing we couldn't get the win for the fans, but they were marvellous and we want to do enough to attract big gates of 7,000-plus here on a regular basis."
