Aston Villa are rumoured to be tracking Real Valladolid keeper Sergio Asenjo, with Martin O'Neill looking to add a shot-stopper to his squad.Asenjo, 18, has been in impressive form for Valladolid this campaign and has reportedly caught the eye of a number of top European clubs.
It is claimed that Villa scouts attended Valladolid's recent 1-1 draw at Real Betis to view the teenager, who has a buy-out clause of 4.5million euros (£3.3million).
Asenjo's agent Fernando Redondo said: "There has been interest from some English clubs but we are still yet to receive a formal offer."
The Spaniard added: "It would be a dream but I prefer to remain calm and only to believe if an offer is received."
Scott Carson has returned to parent club Liverpool after his Villa Park loan spell, with O'Neill yet to talk to the Reds over a permanent switch for the England goalkeeper.
