The camp will give Beenhakker the opportunity to check on the form and fitness of all but two of his players - goalkeepers Tomasz Kuszczak and Artur Boruc - ahead of the tournament in Austria and Switzerland.

"I am curious to see what form the players are in," Beenhakker told Polish press agency PAP. "Some of them have just finished the league and some of them finished the season a long time ago. I will be able to tell you more at the end of the week."

Kuszczak is still on duty for Manchester United with the Champions League final coming up on Wednesday while Boruc will play in Celtic's final game of the season against Dundee United a day later.

Both are expected to join the rest of the squad once their club committments are over.

Meanwhile, Poland received a major boost when two of their key players - left wing-back Grzegorz Bronowicki and defensive midfielder Dariusz Dudka - both declared their fitness following knee injuries.

"This morning I met with the doctor," Red Star Belgrade's Bronowicki said. "Everything is fine and the most important thing is that I have received permission to resume full training."

Wisla Krakow's Dudka said: "I am fully fit. I have been training normally for three days and there are no problems. We are going to Germany in optimistic mood and with the aim to work hard on our form."

Poland kick off their campaign on June 8 with a match against rivals Germany. Co-hosts Austria and Croatia complete the line-up in Group B.
