Kanu is remaining philosophical about his future, as Portsmouth weigh up whether to offer him a new two-year deal. The experienced Nigerian was the toast of the Fratton Park faithful at Wembley on Saturday, as his goal saw the south-coast club lift the FA Cup.
His current deal expires this summer and he has been left to stew on whether he will be offered fresh terms by Harry Redknapp.
Kanu concedes he would love to stay but is refusing to panic, telling Sky Sports News: "If it comes, it comes.
"I love football, I love playing and I think the club will not forget what I have done for this team. It is left for them to say 'you have done well and deserve it'."
Pompey assistant boss Tony Adams is another facing an uncertain future as speculation has suggested he is eager to be the main man.
He is though willing to concede that exciting times lie ahead, as the club gears itself for European football next season.
"I don't know, I still haven't spoken to them (the Portsmouth board). Maybe when things calm down I'll speak to them," replied Adams, when quizzed on whether he'd still be at Portsmouth next season.
"It's fantastic, going into Europe - we've got to push on and upwards. It's a challenge."
