Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore is relishing the new season after offering new deals to eight out-of-contract players at Prenton Park.Paul McLaren, Steve Jennings, Shane Sherriff, Steve Davies, Paul Henry, Danny Holmes and first-year professionals' Terry Gornall and Aaron Cresswell have all been offered new contracts.

Moore told the club's official website: "We're not a million miles away from being a good side and we know the areas we need to focus on.

"We're working hard to bring in some new faces to take the club forward and I'm already looking forward to working with the squad ahead of the new season."

Moore may struggle to keep hold of Davies after it was revealed Leeds had entered the race to capture the in-form forward's signature.
