Arsenal defender Kolo Toure has been ruled out for at least three weeks with a calf injury boss Arsene Wenger blames on the African Cup of Nations.
The Ivory Coast centre back was taken off early in the Champions League last 16 first leg goalless draw at home to reigning champions Milan after blocking a shot by Brazilian youngster Pato.
"Kolo has a calf injury and from what I can see he will be out for at least three to four weeks," Wenger said after the match. "The injury was a consequence of the African Nations Cup."
Arsenal had the better of the tie, the best chance falling to Emmanuel Adebayor, who hit the bar in injury-time, and Wenger thinks the return clash is well-poised.
"It promises to be a very interesting game in the second leg," he continued.
"We had plenty of chances but were a bit nervous and when we took shots we didn't test the keeper enough. Milan will have to come out for the second leg. They didn't create any chances tonight while defensively we were very good.
"Overall, 0-0 at home isn't bad. I didn't dream of that scoreline but to not concede a goal is not bad."
