Canaries chief eyes four more

Mon 21 Jul, 11:15 AM

Norwich City manager Glenn Roeder has set his sights on signing up to four more players for the Canaries within the next week.Roeder has already brought in five players this summer with Wes Hoolahan, Sammy Clingan and Dejan Stefanovic signing permanent deals and Ryan Bertrand and Elliot Omozusi joining on loan.

Luton midfielder David Bell and Newcastle strikers Andy Carroll and Shola Ameobi have been strongly linked with moves to Carrow Road this summer, while forwards Grzegorz Rasiak and Steve Howard of Southampton and Leicester respectively have also been mentioned.

Roeder told the Eastern Daily Press: "I feel pretty confident we'll have another two by the middle of the week and I'd like to think before the start of next week there'll be another one or two in as well.

"Then the kind of squad will be starting to take shape that will give us a good opportunity to have a much better season than we did last year, which we must do."

  1. Roeder really has big plans for the club and if either of the newcastle boys sign for us we could have a very strong frontline this season. Fingers crossed.
