Aberdeen skipper Scott Severin insists there is plenty of motivation for his side to beat Rangers in Thursday's SPL season finale at Pittodrie. The Glasgow giants need to better Celtic's result against Dundee United to wrest the Scottish title from their Old Firm rivals.
And if Celtic win at Tannadice, only a crushing victory for the Gers at Pittodrie could overturn a four-goal deficit.
But Severin has warned the travelling fans that their team is facing determined opposition.
"There's still a lot at stake for us - we must send the supporters home happy," the midfielder said.
"We have win bonuses to play for and a victory could mean a fourth-place finish for us.
"It's close to being a sell-out and it's always a great atmosphere at these games. If you ask any Aberdeen supporter, I'm sure they'd tell you the team they love to beat the most is Rangers.
"If we could scupper their chances of winning the league then the supporters would be happy, but as players we're focused on getting a win for Aberdeen.
"There are still a number of players playing for new contracts at the club as well as those who'll be leaving in the summer and they'll be determined to have a good send off.
"There's too much at stake for us with 16,000 of our fans in the stadium and it makes all the more vital we get a result."
Rangers striker Jean-Claude Darcheville refused to rule out a six-goal win for Walter Smith's side, which could give them the title on goal difference.
But Severin has warned him the Dons are solid at Pittodrie.
"They can say what they want about coming up and scoring lots of goals but it's a different thing doing it," the 29-year-old said.
"If you look at our home record this season, we've only been beaten four times at Pittodrie. That includes games against Bayern Munich, Copenhagen and Lokomotiv Moscow.
"Outwith Celtic, I think we're the form team in the league.
"Were it not for two contentious refereeing decisions since the league split then we may have finished in third place.
"We're approaching the game confident of getting a victory.
"Rangers will be looking to score a number of goals and hopefully that will leave them vulnerable at the back for us to take advantage."
