Alan Knill has revealed Bury have "plenty of irons in the fire" in the search for new players to strengthen their squad in the new season.Knill - who returns from holiday later this week - has already indicated he would like to bring Gillingham defender Efe Sodje to Gigg Lane and is close to signing Mansfield midfielder Stephen Dawson.
Knill told the Bury Times: "It will be all go when I get back. I have got a few players in mind and we have got a few things to sort out with the ones out of contract who we had last season.
"All along we had a list of players we wanted to sign, and a list that we would go for if any of our players didn't sign their contract. We have got plenty of irons in the fire - pre-season starts on July 1 so I want to have the majority of the squad in place by then."
Meanwhile former Bury defender Andy Parrish - who was released at the end of last season - has joined Sammy McIlroy's Morecambe on a one-year deal.
