    • 46' GOAL FOR NEWCASTLE - OWEN FROM THE PENALTY SPOT - just 30 secondss into the half. N'Zogbia storms into the box and Yobo makes a silly challenge. Not a great penalty from Owen but it goes under the body of Howard and in.

    • HT And there is the half-time whistle - a very entertaining half of football.
    • 45' Great last ditch tackle from Tomkins denies Agbonlahor when he looked all set to put home a cut back from Young.
    • 45' Stinging shot from Zamora flashes across the face of the goal and goes just wide. Carson flung himself at that one which shows that he was worried.
    • 43' Carew puts a near post header wide - he should have at least hit the target.
    • 41' Something we missed from earlier - Olof Mellberg was booked in his last Villa game.
    • 38' Decent effort from distance from Noble but it goes just wide.
    • 33' Solano with a free-kick in an area not dissimilar from the one where he scored but this one hits the top of the wall and goes out for a corner which the Hammers can't do anything with.
    • 31' Another poor miss from Villa - this time from Agbonlahor as he can only hit the side netting after being slipped in.
    • 28' Bad news from Villa, Yakubu has just headed Everton in front against Newcastle. Their European dream could be over.
