We're back for the final free practice at 10am tomorrow, followed by qualifying at 1pm. See you then!
15:30 That's time. Kovalainen is the man this time around. Nothing like as eventful as this morning, and we will do it all again tomorrow.
15:27 Lewis Hamilton has dropped all the way down to 10th. Raikkonen is 12th.
15:14 The sun has gone in and the times are not dropping in the same way they did this morning.
15:08 The yellow flags are out again as Kazuki Nakajima leaves his front wing on the track. He spun and just touched his nose on the inside of the track.
15:00
Kovalainen dips just under 1.20 as Jarno Trulli stacks it into the wall at Stowe. His rear wing is perched precariously on the track! He lost it on the entry but it is not clear what caused him to lose his wing.
14:55 Massa throws his car sideways through Becketts. Everything seems to be in working order.... Oh, he's run wide. So, too, has Adrian Sutil.
14:45 We reach the halfway point of the session. Massa came straight back into the pits and has not been out since - more work being done to his car.
14:41 Timo Glock's Toyota has finally made it back to the pits. Meanwhile, Felipe Massa is out on the track! Hats off to the Ferrari mechanics for getting him running so quickly after that big shunt this morning.
14:37 Relatively encouraging stuff from Jenson Button, who has just gone seventh quickest. He will want a wet race to level the playing field.
14:30 Vettel hits the front and is immediately bettered by Heikki Kovalainen with a 1:20.353. Still a second slower than this morning's best, mind.
14:25 Timo Glock grinds to a halt at the edge of the track, bringing out yellow flags.
14:23
It is a really lovely day at Silverstone - the sun is out and track temperature is a positively mediterranean 35°C.
14:21 No change at the top of the leaderboard but plenty of laps being put in - Rosberg already has 13 under his belt.
14:15 Lewis Hamilton is the quickest so far with 1:21.282, exactly the same as Nico Rosberg. Every driver has set a time except Felipe Massa, who will sit out the session as Ferrari grease monkeys work on his dinged-up car.
14:08 Hare on the track!! You've got to love these wildlife interludes. It, well, hares across the track in front of a Red Bull (car, not animal) and scurries into the runoff area.
14:03 Immediate action out on the track, with Timo Glock setting the early pace - 1:22.840 from him. And as I type that Robert Kubica goes better with a 1:22.639.
14:00
It is a sunny afternoon, a big crowd is gathered at Silverstone and we should have an enjoyable 90 minutes.
- Welcome to Silverstone for the second practice session of the British Grand Prix weekend!
