Olly Golding's fairytale run in the boys' singles at Wimbledon has come to an end after he was defeated by Australian Benjamin Mitchell 6-2 6-2 in the semi-finals.
The 16-year-old Brit just could not do anything with Mitchell's big serve with the Aussie winning 22 of 28 first service points in a quickfire 44 minutes.
“He played a really good match. He was a different sort of player to everyone that I've played against so far and forced me to play more of his game which meant†I couldn't dictate the temp," Golding told the LTA website.
"You can't play well every match, it's just one of those things. I was trying to hit the ball too hard, and just snatched at it a bit. "
The unseeded Australian faces Hungarian 13th seed Marton Fucsovics in the final.
