Middleton 'unlikely' to take ECB role
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is unlikely to take up a high-profile role with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
It was reported on Friday that the Duchess was to be asked about becoming the first-ever patron of the ECB.
But Press Association Sport understands that such a position would prove difficult as she still gets to grips with other roles, including being a local volunteer leader with the Scout Association in North Wales, near her marital home.
A St James's Palace spokesman said they had not received a written request from England cricket chiefs asking if the Duchess would want to become their patron.
He said: "Officially the ECB would need to write in and there hasn't been a written or formal request."
