Glasgow will be without all their players who featured in Scotland's Six Nations defeat in Italy for Friday night's Celtic League game at Connacht.

The Warriors were allowed to field three of those who played a part in the opening two Six Nations matches against France and Wales when they lost against Cardiff Blues last month, but they will have to rely on many of their fringe men in Galway as they look to reclaim top spot in the Celtic League.

Head coach Sean Lineen delayed naming his starting XV, instead selecting a 22-man squad.

The travelling party includes lock Richie Gray, who was left out of the senior Scotland squad for the match in Rome.

But captain Alastair Kellock, Chris Cusiter, Dan Parks, Max Evans, Graeme Morrison, Kelly Brown, John Barclay (pictured) and Johnnie Beattie are all rested ahead of the Calcutta Cup clash on Saturday week.

Lineen said: "Connacht are on a roll with the way they're playing right now and they are a hard team to beat at home.

"We've got a group of players here who are hurting after the Cardiff game. They know that how our season progresses is in their hands and it's a huge responsibility, but I know they can do it."

Lineen will announce his starting XV before midday on Thursday.
