Roberto Ferrari fired on all cylinders to win the Giro del Friuli one-day race in Italy on Wednesday.
The De Rosa-Stac Plastic rider beat fellow Italians Jacopo Guarnieri of Liquigas-Diomo and Ceramica Flaminia's Enrico Rossi in a sprint finish, while Italian national champion Filippo Pozzato finished fifth for Katusha.
The peloton split and reformed several times during the 190km race and again on the hilly finishing circuit near Sacile, but everything came together for the in-form Ferrari in the final kilometres of the race.
The win is the Italian's second in four days, adding to the GP di Lugano victory he won in Switzerland last Sunday.
