SPL - Rangers edge towards title
Rangers moved towards claming another SPL title after beating Hamilton 1-0 at Ibrox to extend their lead to 13 points over Celtic.
Steven Naismith played a delightful ball into Miller, who had found space on the right side of the penalty area. The Scottish international turned smartly and played a left-footed ball across the goal area where Edu tapped home with the simplest of left-footed finishes.
Moments earlier Edu had struck a post from 20 yards. He was set-up after good work from Naismith and Miller. His left-footed effort looked to have beaten Tomas Cerny in the Hamilton goal but the woodwork came to the goalkeeper's rescue.
Hamilton were far from out of it and James McArthur thought he grabbed a equaliser after 77 minutes but he was harshly adjudged to be offside.
Flavio Paixao crossed from the left and the much sought-after midfielder managed to glanced the ball back across Allan McGregor into the far corner from six yards out. But the assistant referee had his flag up for offside to destroy the Accies dreams of a point.
Miller and substitute Nacho Novo had further chances to extend Rangers advantage but found Cerny in fine form.
The win all but rubber-stamps the Scottish Premier League title as Walter Smith's side stride toward their 53rd league championship.
