Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna broke his leg in the 2-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur and will be out for around three months, the French FA have confirmed.

Sagna has been replaced in France's Euro 2012 qualifying squad by Lille's Mathieu Debuchy.

"The France team doctor, Fabrice Bryand, was informed by his Arsenal colleague of an unstable fracture to Bacary Sagna's right fibula," a FFF statement said.

"The defender will be operated on tomorrow and is expected to be out for around three months. Laurent Blanc has therefore called up Lille's Mathieu Debuchy."

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had earlier pronounced himself "very worried" about the injury, sustained during the defeat in the north London derby at White Hart Lane.

The Arsenal boss blamed Tottenham's Benoit Assou-Ekotto for the injury.

"I think he was pushed quite hard by Assou-Ekotto and I'm not sure what happened to him.

"He might have landed the wrong way, I don't know. I will have to see it again. Straight away he wanted to be substituted."
