Mikko Kokslien and Magnus Moan topped the FIS Nordic Combined Team Sprint World Cup podium to extend Norway’s lead atop the Nations Cup.
Norway had claimed victory this season just once before, in the first race of 2012 in Germany, but doubled that in Val di Fiemme thanks to a blistering cross-country effort.
The duo of Kokslien and Moan sat eighth after the ski jump round but were fastest on the snow, setting a time of 35:27.1 minutes to take the gold.
France’s Maxime Laheurte and Jason Lamy Chappuis had led after the ski jump but were forced to settle for silver as they could only post the eighth-fastest time in the cross-country.
But there was double joy for the French in Italy as Francois Braud and Sebastien Lacroix completed the podium by taking bronze.
Norway still sit on top of the Nations Cup and now lead by 365 points, with second-placed Germany finishing fourth in Val di Fiemme.
