Ligue 1 - Sochaux fans angry after Marseille lock-out
Sochaux fans have reacted with fury after the announcement that their match at Marseille on Saturday night will be closed to away fans.
The season-opening clash at Stade Velodrome will be open to home supporters only because of security and safety concerns resulting from building work at the away end.
Fans are furious at the late announcement of the move, with around 400 tickets already distributed to Sochaux’s supporters, some of whom had made arrangements for travel to the south coast of France.
"It is a lack of respect from the security services and possibly from Marseille," Jean-Francois Bonnet, Sochaux’s official supporters’ club president, told AFP.
"Fair play starts with the treatment of fans.
"I am upset and sickened by this."
