Home win for Geisenberger
Olympic bronze medallist Natalie Geisenberger led a German 1-2 on home ice at the FIL luge World Cup in Koenigssee, bringing teammate Tatjana Huefner's four-race winning streak to an end.
Geisenberger edged out Huefner for her first World Cup victory of the season and her seventh career win with a combined time 1:41.756 minutes.
Huefner was lying second place after the first run and while she managed a course record of 50.798 seconds in her second outing she had to settle for silver – 0.020 behind Geisenberger.
It brings to an end a winning streak that saw the Olympic champion take her overall tally to 25 career World Cup victories.
Bronze went to Alex Gough of Canada who came home 0.459 behind the victor.
