Premier League - Bumper new deal for Chelsea's Ramires
Chelsea midfielder Ramires has signed a five-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge, tying him to the West London club until 2017.
Ramires, 24, joined the Blues from Benfica in the summer of 2010, and has gone on to make 71 appearances for the side, scoring 10 goals.
"I am very happy with the support I have playing for this club so I want to say thank you to Chelsea," Ramires said.
The Brazilian's contract extension was announced just a day after manager Andre Villas-Boas was sacked following seven months at the club.
Formerly of Cruzeiro, he was already a Brazil international when he left Benfica for Chelsea in a £20 million deal.
He has played 27 games for his country, scoring two goals, and his previous contract was set to expire in 2014.
