Scunthorpe midfielder Jimmy Ryan could return to the starting line-up at Oldham for the first time in two months.
Ryan, an unused substitute in Saturday's 4-1 win over Wycombe, could start in place of the suspended Michael O'Connor, who starts a three-game ban following his straight red card for violent conduct against the Chairboys.
Ryan last appeared for the Iron on January 2, but has been sidelined since due to the recurrence of a long-term knee injury.
Fellow midfielder Sam Togwell sits out the second game of his three-match ban following his recent dismissal at Sheffield United, so Damian Mozika is set to continue after making his first start since mid-October against Wycombe.
Manager Alan Knill could hand a late fitness test to goalkeeper Sam Slocombe, who sustained a dead leg on Saturday.
Josh Lillis, initially sidelined with a knee injury, could make his first appearance in six months if Slocombe fails to make it.
