The Australian team Orica-GreenEdge, which is riding it's debut Tour de France with the ambition of winning the green jersey and, perhaps more importantly, winning a few stages with Matt Goss, was overwhelmed in the final in Metz just like in previous days. The sprinter was third. But, thanks to the presence of two team-mates in the top 10 Daryl Impey (9th) and Brett Lancaster (10th) the squad earns the victory in the team classification for the day. In the general classification for teams, there was little change aside from the collapse of Garmin-Sharp which was badly affected by the carnage with 26km to go in the sixth stage. They are now at the bottom of the rankings; clearly the team is the big loser of the day.
