Tarjei Boe got Norway back on the gold trail at the IBU biathlon World Cup in Oberhof and denied Germany’s Arnd Peiffer a second victory on home soil.
The 22-year-old Olympic relay gold medallist, who made a flying start to the World Cup season with three wins in as many days in Hochflizen, Austria, missed one target to finish the 10km sprint in 25:49.7 minutes.
Peiffer, who helped Germany to 4x7.5km gold on Wednesday, also missed one target but crossed the line 16.7 seconds off the pace and was forced to settle for silver.
And buoyed by guiding the Czech Republic to a surprise relay silver medal, Michael Slesingr also returned to the podium for a second time, clocking 26:10.4 for bronze after a flawless shooting performance.
