Eurogoals celebrates 20 years on Eurosport this season, and has marked the occasion by signing up former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniard will provide expert analysis alongside Arsene Wenger, as two of Europe's most successful managers offer insight into Eurogoals's coverage of the Champions League, Europa League and Europe's top Leagues .

Benitez enjoys the rare distinction of having managed in Europe's three biggest leagues.

He won two Liga titles and the UEFA Cup with Valencia, before moving to Liverpool where he masterminded Liverpool's 'miracle of Istanbul' to win the 2005 Champions League. He also won the FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup while at Anfield. A short spell with Serie A champions Internazionale followed, where he picked up FIFA Club World Cup and Italian Super Cup honours.

Talking about the relative strength of Europe's two biggest leagues, Benitez said:

"Is the Premier League stronger than La Liga? Anyone can have a legitimate opinion, but we want to analyse every piece of data available. We can monitor every match in Europe today and we made every possible comparison.

"There is more physical contact in the Premier League, more sprints, more tackles and more aerial challenges.

"For me, the physical element is what makes it harder than La Liga. We can see the gap is closing when it comes to goals per game. That means they are either attacking better in Spain or defending better in England. We will see some interesting things this season."
