Premier League - David Beckham 'pushed broken-down car'
A motorist stranded when his car broke down on the school run was shocked when David Beckham pulled up to help.
The driver, who phoned in to a BBC Five Live radio show, said that the incident had taken place earlier in the morning.
The listener, Paul, told presenter Richard Bacon that his Nissan Primera had ground to a halt at a busy roundabout in Hertfordshire as he was taking his children to school.
"No-one stopped, no-one came along to say 'Are you alright, do you need a push or anything?'", he explained.
"After about ten minutes I saw a car pull over in a layby in the distance.
"A figure stepped out, wearing a hoodie... as he got nearer it became quite apparent that this was David Beckham!"
Beckham, 35, has been training with Tottenham Hotspur before returning for the start of the domestic season for his American club LA Galaxy.
"He asked whether we were OK, and I said, 'Look, can you give us a push over to the side?', which he duly did," Paul continued.
"Afterwards he asked if we were OK again.
"I just said, 'Thanks David - I love you!'"
