La Liga - Kaka admits he's been a Real flop
Kaka has said he wants to stay at Real Madrid and finally start to repay his massive transfer fee, after admitting he has "not lived up to expectations."
The Brazilian signed from Milan for a then world record fee of 68.5 million euros in the summer of 2009 but his two seasons at the Bernabeu have been marred by injury.
"My hope is that I get to start the season with Real without suffering any injuries and I'm confident that will happen," he told Brazilian newspaper Jornal da Tarde.
"I need to participate fully in pre-season, with all the other players, without needing any treatment for any injury if I'm to start the season well.
"I know I have not lived up to expectations, not just to the press and the fans, but to myself also.
"I wish and hope that good things will happen to me at Real Madrid. For now, I just want to win the confidence of the coach and I'm sure I can perform in the big games.
"My challenge is to prove to myself that I can play again at the highest level. Without sounding pretentious or arrogant, I've won everything I could win in my career, and I have a strong motivation to return to that highest level."
