Premier League - Milosevic's father killed by grandfather
Former Aston Villa striker Savo Milosevic has said he is in "unbearable pain" after his grandfather shot to death his father during an argument.
The tragedy occurred at the Milosevic's family home in Glavicice, Bosnia- Herzegovina, with the grandfather, also named Savo (aged 83), shooting the 58-year-old Stevo Milosevic in the chest with a M-48 rifle.
The argument was believed to be over unresolved property issues.
Stevo Milosevic was rushed to hospital where he died, while police detained the elder man.
Savo Milosevic released a statement to Serbian newspaper Tanjug where he asked for privacy while he tried to cope with the "unbearable pain" of the tragedy.
"We ask the media to spare the family and give us time to cope with the tragedy so we can pull ourselves together," he said in the statement.
Milosevic, now 37, played 117 games for Villa between 1995 and 1998 and scored 34 goals including one in the 1996 League Cup final when Villa beat Leeds 3-0.
He also played for the likes of Real Zaragoza, Parma and Osasuna during his illustrious career and won 102 caps for Serbia.
