Juodvalkis takes Picardie opener
Young Lithuanian Egidijus Juodvalkis (Agricole) has won the opening stage of the Tour de Picardie in Northern France.
The previous biggest win of the 22-year-old's career was the Lithuanian national championship, but this victory is likely to surpass that.
A group of 39 contested the final sprint with Juodvalkis finishing ahead of Kenny de Haes (Omega Pharma - Lotto) and Martin Elmiger (AG2R La Mondiale).
The second group were led in by Edvald Boasson Hagen (Team Sky) - 12 seconds behind the leading group.
