The previous biggest win of the 22-year-old's career was the Lithuanian national championship, but this victory is likely to surpass that.

A group of 39 contested the final sprint with Juodvalkis finishing ahead of Kenny de Haes (Omega Pharma - Lotto) and Martin Elmiger (AG2R La Mondiale).

The second group were led in by Edvald Boasson Hagen (Team Sky) - 12 seconds behind the leading group.

The Tour de Picardie was won last year by Britain's Ben Swift and has had some high profile winners in the past such as Tom Boonen, Alexandre Vinokourov, Miguel Indurain and Bernard Hinault.
