Powerful Czech centre Martin Hanzal has signed a two-year contract extension with the Phoenix Coyotes.
The 23-year-old recorded 11 goals and 22 assists in 81 games for the Coyotes last season while adding a further three assists in the playoffs.
"We are happy to have re-signed Marty and have him in Phoenix for the start of training camp next week," Phoenix general manager Don Maloney said.
"He is an important player for us who plays critical minutes against the best opposing forwards."
Selected as the 17th overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 6ft-6in, 228-pound Hanzal has registered 30 goals and 69 assists in 227 games for the Coyotes.
