Champions League - Pique expects Guardiola deal
Gerard Pique is convinced Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola will pledge his future to the Catalan club by signing a new contract.
Guardiola has claimed three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies since replacing Frank Rijkaard three years ago.
Guardiola continues to sign one-year extensions at the Camp Nou, but Spain defender Pique is not concerned about his manager's future.
"I don’t want to put any pressure on Guardiola,” said Piqué.
“He will do things at his own tempo, like he has done every year. He has always signed a new deal, though, and I believe he’ll do so again this year.
“He loves his job here and the players belief in him. I think this team is the best in history and should never be broken up. Pep doesn’t have any reason to leave the club.”
Barca president Sandro Roseli is determined to keep Guardiola at the club.
Rosel said: “We will do our best to keep Guardiola. He is the best coach in the history of the club and is also a great person. We will do our best to keep him."
