Watson into Quebec quarters
Britain's Heather Watson booked her place in the quarter-finals of the Bell Challenge in Quebec with a straight-sets win over Sofia Arvidsson.
The teenager from Guernsey downed her Swedish opponent 7-5 6-3 to reach the last eight of a WTA tournament for the third time this year.
Watson had won her way into the second round clash with the world number 77 after another two-set victory, against Luxembourg's Anne Kremer, earlier in the week.
The line-up for the other quarter-final decided on Wednesday will see Michaella Krajicek meet Rebecca Marino.
Dutchwoman Krajicek beat Julie Coin of France 7-5 4-6 6-1 while Canada's Marino downed her compatriot Aleksandra Wozniak 6-4 4-6 6-4.
The quarter-final line-up will be completed on Thursday, when top seed Daniela Hantuchova is among those in action.
