Bursaspor clinched the Turkish title on Sunday, becoming only the second club outside the Istanbul 'big three' to win the league as favourites Fenerbahce drew with Trabzonspor in a nail biting finish to the season.

Playing at home in the north western city of Bursa, the surprise champions beat last year's winners Besiktas 2-1 thanks to a goal from Pablo Batalla and an own goal from Ibrahim Toraman.

In Istanbul, Daniel Guiza had put Fenerbahce ahead but Burak Yilmaz equalised for Trabzonspor.

The victory, in the final game of the season, left Bursaspor on 75 points ahead of Fenerbahce on 74 points. (Reporting by Daren Butler; Editing by Kevin Fylan)
