Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran has completed his loan move to Swansea City, citing the club’s style of play as the main factor in his decision to pick the Liberty Stadium over other offers.

The 18-year-old hopes that the way Brendan Rodgers’s team plays will complement his own game well, and is eager to gain as much Premier League experience as possible.

“I’m delighted, with injuries at Chelsea it has been quite hard. I’m here now and I start training tomorrow so I’m really looking forward to it,” McEachran told Swansea’s official website, also confirming that he had turned down other Premier League options to join Rodgers’s outfit.

“There were a few others in the Premier League, but I chose Swansea because the style of football they play will suit me and Brendan had a big impact on me. I’ve known him from his time at Chelsea and I think he’s a fantastic manager, so I look forward to working under him.

“It’s a really young team here, so I think I’ll fit in well and the style of play is exactly how I play.

“They play the same formation at Chelsea with one holding and two advanced midfielders, so I’d look to play in an advanced role. Hopefully I can get my place here and just play a lot more Premier League games.”
