Domracheva wins to keep hopes alive
Belarus’s Darya Domracheva kept her hopes of snatching the overall World Cup title alive with a fine win in the women’s 10km race in Russia.
Current overall leader Magdalena Neuner was fourth on the day after five misses on the shooting range left her struggling to keep pace with her rivals.
Defending World Cup champion Kaisa Makarainen was second on the day behind Domracheva while Ukraine’s Vita Semerenko rounded out the podium.
The win for Domracheva closes the gap atop the standings to 25 points heading into tomorrow’s Mass Start race.
