The 24-year-old Canadian topped the timesheets after both outings in her home city for an overall winning time of 1:34.212 minutes ahead of German Tatjana Hufner.

That was only Gough’s second World Cup victory and only the second time a Canadian luger has climbed the World Cup podium on home soil – Tyler Seitz winning bronze in 2002.

It also promoted her to second in the overall World Cup standings with 230 points with Hufner’s second still good enough for the lead after three events of nine.

Reigning Olympic, World and World Cup champion Hufner was just over a 10th of a second behind in 1:34.324 while Russian Tatiana Ivanova won bronze in 1:34.724.
