Olympique Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac was ruled out of the midweek Champions League last-16 first leg against Manchester United after suffering an injury in Saturday's 2-1 win over St Etienne.

The Ligue 1 champions said in a statement the France striker had stretched his adductor muscle and would be out for around 15 days.

Fellow strikers Loic Remy and Brandao were also substituted with knocks on Saturday but could be fit for Wednesday's home game against United, the statement added.

Marseille are already without injured midfielder Mathieu Valbuena for the match.
