Chisholm takes on 'massive' task

Gordon Chisholm has described Dundee's last nine games of the season as "absolutely massive" after being unveiled as the club's new manager.

The Irn-Bru First Division leaders acted swiftly to replace Jocky Scott, who was sacked after Saturday's 3-0 defeat at bottom club Airdrie United.

They ultimately turned to two former Dens Park captains in 49-year-old Chisholm and his assistant Billy Dodds, who have signed contracts until the end of 2011-12 after leaving Queen of the South.

Chisholm, who spent five years on Tayside during his playing career, will be charged with getting his old club's stuttering promotion campaign back on track.

He told DFCTV: "The next six weeks are absolutely massive, the next nine games, and that's taking my full concentration.

"There will be a togetherness for that period of time and we'll look at it afterwards.

"I don't think anyone can deny how important this run-in at the end of the season is going to be so we'll focus totally on that."
