World Series Renault - Wickens seals second Silverstone win

Robert Wickens claimed victory in race two of the Formula Renault 3.5 at Silverstone.
The Carlin racer, who also won race one, comfortably beat Fortec’s Alexander Rossi, who charged through the field from sixth on the grid to finish two seconds adrift of the Canadian.
As a result of Wickens's double win and team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne's fifth place finish, Carlin have sealed their first Formula Renault 3.5 teams' championship.
Erstwhile championship leader Vergne had a frustrating afternoon although the early laps had offered promise when the Frenchman attacked Wickens for the lead. But a sticky wheel nut on his left-rear wheel allowed Rossi to take second place on the podium.
ISR’s Daniel Ricciardo finished 14.576 seconds adrift of Wickens but the time was still good enough to earn the Australian a third-place finish.
At the head of the drivers' standings, Wickens extended his points total to 198, Vergne dropped 36 points and now lies adrift in second with two rounds of the championship remaining. The next meeting takes place at Paul Ricard on September 17-18.
