Perpignan's poor run of form continued with a crushing 39-3 defeat at home to Clermont.

Full-back Jean-Marcellin Button, Scotland lock Nathan Hines and Kini Murimurivalu scored the tries to put Clermont into a 22-3 lead at the interval.

And Perpignan, who had slumped to a 38-0 defeat to Toulon a week ago, continued to struggle, unable to add to Jerome Porical's first-half penalty.

Alexandre Lapandry and Noa Nakaitaci added tries for Clermont to complete the rout and seal their sseventh win in eight games.

Clermont are top of the table, with Perpignan in fifth despite the heavy loss.
