Heather Watson breezed through her opening qualifying match against Sharon Fichman 6-1 6-2 at the French Open with Laura Robson also winning.
The British number three, seeded five in the qualifying competition at Roland Garros, wasted no time in dismissing her Canadian opponent and setting up a second round tie against Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.
Fellow Brit Robson opened her qualifying campaign with a 6-2 7-6(4) win over Estrella Cabeza Candela later on Wednesday.
Robson, the 15th seed, looked comfortable throughout as she took the opening set with consummate ease, before having to work harder to win the second on a tie-break. She will next take on Laura Thorpe of France.
In the men's qualifiers, Jamie Baker suffered a second-round exit as Daniel Munoz-De La Nava of Spain won 6-4 6-3.
